Abstract. Cognitive stimulation therapy (CST) is a manualized psychosocial group intervention for people with mild to moderate dementia. Because of its broad scientific evidence and cost effectiveness, CST now used globally. To ensure replicability quality standards the in other cultures, Aguirre et al. (2014) developed guidelines cultural adaptation based on formative method adapting psychotherapy (FMAP). Following this community-based approach, we adapted translated English manual into German, including multiprofessional focus groups, two cycles, pilot groups ( n = 13) different settings representative German healthcare system. Effectiveness both was assessed by pre-post comparison standard scales cognition, depression, life, self-efficacy. We were able replicate previous findings improved cognition as measured ADAS-Cog, effect sizes same range randomized controlled trials. Additionally, self-efficacy increased post-test compared pre-test, indicating that might trigger through positive, self-rewarding activation.
